Taxis have meters and very cheap, reliable and safe. Most drivers are Pakistani and extremely courteous, but may have little or no English. Women should sit in the back seat. . There are taxi bays on most main roads where taxis call in to collect passengers, or you can try hailing. Taxi fare is generally between Dhs5 and Dhs15; i.e.: between NZ$2-8 and a small tip is usual.
