It is very unusual nowadays to use landlines. Mobiles are carried and used by everyone. You will be given a company mobile phone on arrival. This phone is for work, and must be kept on at all times, and you will be given a money credit each month to keep it charged; once you use up this allowance, you will need to fund the phone yourself. Text messaging is widely used.  You can call on your own private mobile if you choose.
