Due to our rapid organisational growth, one of our key challenges is to keep up with the amount of interest that has been generated in working with us.  Cognition receives a large number of applications from New Zealand and abroad.

Through this section of the website we will:
·         List our current opportunities
·         Provide updates for those who have registered their interest

The website is updated regularly to include the positions we are currently recruiting for.
We are only able to process applications from people who are fully registered with Cognition. Therefore please register your interest using the online form on the website (if you haven’t already done so).  This will ensure we have all your up-to-date details.
The positions we are able to offer depend upon the contracts that we have with our clients. The majority of our contracts are fixed term, and all are individual employment contracts.

When you register your interest your information is kept in our recruitment system so that we can contact you and email you information that may be of interest
The employment process with Cognition
   1. Register your interest here
   2. Once you have completed the online registration form (ROI) you will be added to our database for regular updates. You will receive an automatically generated email acknowledging your submission
   3. If you have already done this you will be in the system. If you have made contact by phone or email we also encourage you to register using the online form
   4. Our team will review the information that you submit in the online ROI form. If you meet the following criteria you will receive a second email asking you to fill in an ‘Offshore Application Form’ and a ‘Curriculum Vitae Template’. Our international clients demand that all appointments must meet the following minimum criteria:
          * Minimum 3 years teaching experience
          * Bachelors Degree or Higher Qualification
          * Current Teacher Registration (New Zealand, Australian or British)
          * Subject specialization in mathematics, science, English, ESOL or  ICT and, school management experience for lead advisor roles
          * Our clients stipulate minimum criteria that will apply to all appointments. The client will have final approval of all positions. Our timeframes are dictated by the needs of our clients including the start and finish dates of contracts. This means we occasionally need to recruit for positions at short notice. 
   5. Once we receive these completed forms you will again get an email acknowledging this.

You are now fully registered with Cognition

Once you are fully registered we will keep your records on file so that we can contact you if you are short listed for a position. Filling in the application form and curriculum vitae template is not an application for a specific position. It is a process to fully register your interest. From this point we will keep you updated through newsletters and our website.

If you do not meet the above criteria, an email will be sent to you informing you that Cognition will not taking your application further.

To apply for a specific position

Positions we are actively recruiting for will be published on the website

   1. Complete the full registration process outlined above so that we can process a specific application (APPLICANT)
   2. Once you have done this email Anthea directly about the job with the position title and job reference in the subject line.  (Note: Other applicants will be identified through our database of fully registered candidates)
   3. Short-listing of applicants (COGNITION)
   4. Interviews (COGNITION)
   5. Conditional offer of employment (COGNITION)
   6. All documentation required. Candidates will be informed of all documentation required at this point (APPLICANT)
   7. Reference checking and psychometric testing (COGNITION)
   8. Client approval (CLIENT) – Offshore employment contracts are conditional upon acceptance by our international clients.
   9. Final contract agreed (COGNITION AND APPLICANT)

All offshore employment contracts with Cognition offer:
    * A competitive salary

Due to the volume of enquiries we receive we endeavor to provide general information and updates through the website, and our newsletters.  We anticipate these newsletters being regular and updates to the website frequent.
