Since reaching an agreement with the State of Qatar in 2004, Cognition has worked to support the Supreme Education Council (SEC) to further improve the state’s education system. Subsequently, Cognition has moved from providing platforms for self-managing independence and autonomy within existing and planned schools to being the lead service provider. This success is attributable to the way in which Cognition has been able to tailor its services to the needs of the client. Cognition has worked with the SEC on a wide range of contracts, including:
Cognition is proud of the fact that its consulting work has been embraced so enthusiastically in Qatar. The delivery of the work is through a team of highly qualified and experienced educators, the majority of whom are from New Zealand. The team comprises highly committed educators who carry out significant and rewarding work. Cognition’s employees display a profound respect for cultural differences where they work, and are respected in return for their strong New Zealand work ethic. National Teacher Registration Authority Cognition is currently helping the Evaluation Institute of the Qatar Supreme Education Council to establish and implement the country’s first-ever policy to improve teacher and school leader quality through a rigorous system of registration and licensing. In 2008/2009, all school leaders and teachers new to the same schools in the current academic year in Qatar’s 88 Independent Schools will be provisionally licensed. By September 2010, all school leaders and teachers in all Independent Schools will be registered and licensed.
