Pip Arnold joined Cognition in 2010 bringing with her an extensive background in mathematics and statistics education, teacher professional development, curriculum development and assessment. Pip is developing the senior secondary guides – mathematics and statistics for TKI. Pip’s background in teacher professional development started in 1990 when she trained as a workshop leader. 

Since then, she has coordinated and presented many workshops, covering wide-ranging topics such as a focus on teaching and learning through to assessment and departmental management.  Before joining Cognition Pip worked as a secondary mathematics facilitator for Team Solutions.  She was also a member of the curriculum writing group for Mathematics and Statistics, and was the lead writer in developing tier two support material for the statistics strand of the Mathematics and Statistics learning area in The New Zealand Curriculum (2007) for levels six to eight.  Most recently Pip has been a member of both the Mathematics and Statistics NCEA realignment writing group, and the assessment development team for Mathematics and Statistics.
